Discipleship Training Institute

The first course offered by the Discipleship Training Institute focuses on helping students read and understand the literary, historical, and social contexts of the Bible. Throughout the course, various techniques will be modeled and practiced to help students interpret the Bible responsibly. 

The Old Testament Survey course explores the main storyline of the Old Testament and God's redemptive plan leading to Jesus. By the end of this course, students will gain a deeper understanding of how the Old Testament works together to tell of God's plan for the world and how to interpret it through the lens of the gospel of Jesus.

The New Testament Survey course explores the life and ministry of Jesus. By the end of the course, students will gain a deeper understanding of who Jesus is and the cultural context in which He ministered on Earth. Additionally, students will be encouraged to recognize their role in the ongoing ministry of Jesus, as discussed in the New Testament letters.

The book of Acts continues the work that Jesus began and taught. Throughout this course, students will witness how the early followers of Jesus were shaped and transformed by the power of His resurrection and the presence of the Holy Spirit. This transformation empowered them to spread the gospel message to the ends of the Earth. Students will have the opportunity to explore what it means today to follow Jesus and to proclaim the gospel message throughout the world.

The next course offered by the Discipleship Training Institute is the History of Christianity. This course focuses on the growth and development of the Christian movement. Students will have the opportunity to explore key moments in Christian history and will be encouraged to reflect on their lives in relation to the Kingdom of God.

The last course offered by the Discipleship Training Institute is Theology of Missions. This course is focused on challenging students to become fluent in speaking gospel truths into every area of life. Throughout this course, students will be confronted with the urgency of taking the gospel to the ends of the world and discover ways they can find their role in the Kingdom of God.
